Budget honeymoon destinations in America (North, Central, and South)

We haven’t been to all North, Central, South American and Caribbean countries (yet 😉 ), but on our ‘first’ honeymoon, we have visited quite a lot of them. We’ve been to the United States, the Bahamas, the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Grand Turk, Dominica, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Jamaica, Cuba, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Brazil. Each and every one of these countries offers many beautiful sights, romantic experiences, and amazing adventures. The prices, however, vary a lot. Here you can find out which are the cheapest and the most expensive destinations in the Americas. 😉

Salar de Uyuni Bolivia

12. The Caribbean

The Caribbean consists of many countries, islands, and cays, each with its own price ranges. Generally speaking, the Caribbean is the most expensive region in the Americas, however, you can save a lot of money by traveling off-season or by taking a cruise. Prices for first or last-minute cruises start at 50 USD per day and they include accommodation, unlimited food and drinks, many entertainment features, unlimited access to fitness centers, pools and whirlpools, a 24-hour room service, and, of course, transportation from one island to another. Read more about our Carnival and Norwegian cruise experience.

Accommodation prices in the Caribbean are usually high, food and transportation, on the other hand, can be relatively inexpensive, depending on the exact location.

Jamaica and the Dominican Republic are among the cheapest Caribbean islands; prices are also reasonable in Cuba, but only if you eat, sleep and travel like the locals do. Read more about the budget in Jamaica and Cuba. Check out why you should visit Jamaica and Cuba.
