Panama is lovely Caribbean country famous for its many natural and manmade attractions. It attracts many tourists with its amazing Caribbean beaches, numerous stunning islands, a relaxed tropical vibe, vast jungles, an abundance of tropical plants and animals, highly developed ecotourism, majestic mountains, coffee farms, rich culture, vibrant nightlife, great economic achievements, trendy cities, and of course one of the seven wonders of the modern world – the Panama Canal.
Our four-day Panama honeymoon itinerary (things to see and things to do)
DAY 1
We arrived in Bocas, the capital of Bocas del Toro province the previous evening. In the morning, we went straight to the beach. Yes, we are true beachaholics. 🙂 We chose to visit one of the most spectacular beaches in the whole country – La Playa de las Estrellas aka. the Starfish Beach. The beautiful palm tree beach is famous for the incredible number of starfish in the shallow waters. If you decide to visit this little piece of paradise on Earth, make sure to be a responsible tourist and do not touch the starfish – if you take them out of the water, they may die!
DAY 2
Travel day. In Bocas, we took a 10-hour bus to Panama City.
DAY 3
We woke up in Panama City and were in the mood for sightseeing. 🙂 The capital of Panama is one of the trendiest cities in America, as well as a major international economic center. It is located on the Pacific coast of Panama and it offers many historic attractions, a vibrant culture and nightlife, a spectacular skyline and of course the world-renowned engineering marvel – the Panama Canal. After visiting this 48 mi (77 km) long artificial waterway, which connects the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, we visited the historic center of the city – Casco Viejo and took a walk along the coast, which offers spectacular views of the city. We were really impressed!
DAY 4
Travel day. In the morning we took a taxi to Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, where we took a plane to Colombia. First, we flew to Bogotá and from there to the lovely city of Cartagena. 🙂
♥ Top romantic experience
Bird watching is very popular in Belize – if you do it together, it can be quite romantic. You could also take a hot springs tour, a coffee tour, a food tasting tour, a botanical tour, a cacao plantation tour, a sunset sailing tour, a Panama City and Canal tour, treat yourselves to a spa day, admire the countless amazing sights or simply relax on a gorgeous Caribbean beach.
Our favorite romantic experience, as well as our favorite adventure, was snorkeling at the Starfish Beach.
♥ Top adventure
Panama offers a long list of adventures, such as sailing, diving, snorkeling, surfing, rafting, kayaking, canyoning, trekking, rappelling, horseback riding, hiking, jungle and mountain trekking, volcano hiking, canopy tours, rock climbing, caving, whale watching and other wildlife tours.

What a really nice site.
My wife and I have been married for several years and now have children. Would a vacation like this be good for a family? Would it be family friendly? Should we take the kids or leave them at home?
I know you are selling it as a place for young couples but we would like to visit Panama as a family.
What do you recommend?
Hi, there, Bobby!
We encountered many families enjoying their vacation while visiting Panama. Therefore, if you’d like to go to Panama as a family, you should do that. However, it all depends on your children’s ages and your comfort level preferences. But you can always adjust your itinerary and activities plan to best fit your needs.
But don’t forget that you are considering two very different types of vacation – potential romantic getaway vs. family vacation. So it is totally up to you to decide which one you prefer, but both types are easily feasible.
Whatever you decide, we wish you to have a wonderful time.
Cheers!
