Country Nr 27 – Libya

Country 27/196: Libya Destinations: Tripoli and Leptis Magna Dates: From 22nd to 23rd of October We've been told not to travel to Libya. We've been told that it's too dangerous. Well, we went. And even though the situation in the country is still not stable, life goes on in Tripoli and in the rest of the country. And what a country it is!!! ♥ The place where the Mediterranean meets the Arabic. Libya has so much to offer - kind people, amazing architecture, great food, so much history, and culture and even one of the most beautiful and best preserved Roman...

Country Nr 26 – Eritrea

Country 26/196: Eritrea Destination: Asmara Dates: From 14th to 18th of October Asmara is just...wow! It's nothing like any other African city we've been to. It's more like a romantic Italian city really. Italian architecture, Italian food (as well as tasty Eritrean food), laid-back vibe, beautiful nature, stunning views, and the nicest people ever! It's one of the most relaxed places on Earth (the lack of Wi-Fi may be a contributing factor) and we loved it for that! PS: If you ever decide to visit Asmara (which you definitely should), make sure to contact the Asmara Grande Travel and Tour...

Country 24/196: Somalia (actually it was Somaliland) Destination: Hargeisa Dates: From 10th to 12th of October Somalia is considered a rather dangerous country, so we had to find a safe spot to visit. We decided to visit Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, an autonomous region of Somalia. Luckily, Hergeisa turned out to be a lovely city. We also visited Laas Geel, an archeological site near the city, where one can admire more than 9000 years old cave paintings and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Well, this time we managed to visit the country's top attraction and we weren't disappointed at all! Moreover, the famous Lake Assal is WAY more stunning than on the internet. We were overwhelmed. Country Nr 21 – Chad

Country 21/196: Chad Destination: N'djamena Dates: From 3rd to 5th of October Well, the first thing every tourist needs to know about N'djamena is that it's forbidden to take photos of the most prominent places and monuments unless you have a special permit from the government. Since we didn't have the permit we had to pay some guards/soldiers to allow us to take at least some shots, but we still had lots of restrictions, so the photos are far from perfect. It's also good to know that there are a lot of soldiers all over the city to make sure...

Country 20/196: Nigeria Destination: Lagos Dates: From 1st to 3rd of October Lagos was a roller-coaster for us. First, we met the nicest guy who made the visa gaining process upon arrival very easy for us, even though we didn't have all the necessary paperwork. We were staying at the amazing Maroko bay shore suites and we loved it! The location was great, the staff was very nice, and the room was clean and comfortable. The next day we took a private tour of the city. The price was reasonable and the driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable. He took us...

Country Nr 19 – Côte d’Ivoire

Country 19/196: Côte d'Ivoire Destination: Abidjan Dates: From 29th of September to the 1st of October Abidjan is big city life. It's the perfect combination of modern and traditional, the perfect place to experience the 21st century Africa. We were staying at the city center and we were very surprised to see how empty the city is on a Sunday. There were almost literally 10 people walking around the city center, whereas on the next day the city was full. Obviously, the people of Abidjan still know how to take time for themselves and their loved ones. We had a great time in "Drogba's country" as...
